This century marks Rohit’s 32nd in ODIs and his second-fastest in the format. His last century came on October 11, 2023. The innings is being considered crucial for him ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to begin on February 19.

Rohit’s fastest ODI centuries include 63 balls against Afghanistan in Delhi (2023), 76 balls against England in Cuttack (2025), 82 balls against England in Nottingham (2018), 82 balls against New Zealand in Indore (2023), and 84 balls against West Indies in Guwahati (2018).

His innings finally came to an end at 119 off 90 balls when he was caught by Adil Rashid off Liam Livingstone’s delivery.

Currently, India needs 85 runs from 120 balls to win the match. If they secure victory, the hosts will take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
