Rain to continue in Odisha until June 22

Bhubaneswar: Rain is expected to continue in Odisha until June 22, with heavy rainfall predicted in four districts today.

Rain is lashing various parts of Odisha due to the active low pressure system in Bay of Bengal (BoB). Hence, normal life has been affected to some extent.

The weather department has predicted that heavy to very heavy rain is likely in 4 districts of Odisha today. Accordingly, orange alert has been issued for Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh and Keonjhar districts.

Similarly, yellow alert has been issued for Deogarh, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Bargarh and Subarnapur districts for heavy rain.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till tomorrow as the sea remains rough and turbulent.

There is a low pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas. It is likely to move towards Jharkhand in the northwest direction. Under its influence, rain will continue till the 22nd of June, 2025 in Odisha.
