Quick Action Averts Fire at MKCG Medical College
Berhampur: A minor fire broke out at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur around 5:30 PM today. The incident occurred on the third floor of the Medicine ward in the state-run hospital.
According to sources, the fire was triggered by a short circuit in the air conditioner inside a patient hall. Fortunately, no patients were admitted to the room at the time of the incident.
Upon noticing thick smoke, hospital security personnel immediately responded, using fire extinguishers to control the flames within 5-7 minutes. Their swift action prevented the situation from escalating.
A team of local firefighters arrived shortly after being informed of the incident. They conducted a thorough inspection to ensure there was no further risk and left once the area was deemed safe.
