PV Sindhu Enters Knockout Round As She Beats Hong Kong’s Cheung at Tokyo Olympics

Star Indian shuttler PV Sindhu entered the women’s singles Round of 16 at the Tokyo Olympic Games by defeated Hong Kong’s Ngan Yi Cheung in her second Group J match of the Tokyo Olympics here at the Musashino Forest Plaza Court 2 on Wednesday.
Ngan Yi Cheung has been defeated by Sindhu in straight sets 21-9, 21-16 to cruise into the elimination round of women’s singles. Sindhu soon wrapped up the first set and won it with ease (21-9).
In the second set, Cheung fought back and tried to pull the match away from Sindhu but Sindhu showed her guile and capture significant focuses to secure the success in straight sets, taking to a 7-6 lead.
This was the second successive success for the 2016 silver medallist who prior to Sunday began her Tokyo campaign after Israel’s Ksenia Polikarpova 21-7, 21-10. The whole match lasted for 28 minutes.
