Puri: One Killed, 7 Injured in Lightning

Puri: A woman was killed while seven others sustained injuries in a lightning strike in Chaitana Bhoi Sahi area in Puri district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Kunti Bhoi (45).

According to reports, the pilgrim town had been experiencing thunderstorms and heavy rainfall since the early morning. About eight persons including Kunti faced the lightning strike while they were working in an agricultural field.

After the incident, the injured individuals were quickly taken to the Puri district headquarters hospital, where Kunti Bhoi succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
