Puri: Naveen Assures All Support Following Fire Mishap
Puri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep concern over the firecracker accident that occurred at Narendra Pokhari in Puri on Wednesday.
Taking to his official handle, CM Patnaik stated, “I am sorry to hear about the accident at Narendra Puskarini in Puri. The Chief Secretary and the District administration have been instructed to ensure proper injured treatment and monitor smooth operation. All the medical expenses of the injured will be borne from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. My sincere prayers near Mahaprabhu for the speedy recovery of all.”
The tragic incident left over 30 devotees with burn injuries after they were exposed to firecracker flares during the Chapa Khela ritual of Lord Jagannath’s holy Chandan Yatra on Wednesday evening at Devi Ghat, near Narendra Pushkarini, Puri. The injured were promptly admitted to the burn unit of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Puri, but tensions rose over the lack of doctors.
