Puri: Congress witnessed a minor revolt on Saturday as the Congress candidate for the Puri Lok Sabha seat-Sucharita Mohanty returned party ticket.
According to the sources, “With limited resources and restrictions on our bank accounts, the Congress party is unable to allocate any funds for our election campaign. We find ourselves in a challenging battle in Puri against well-funded opponents from the BJP and BJD. As a salaried professional woman, I have my own limited resources to conduct a successful campaign to challenge corruption and combat electoral bond scams,” said Mohanty.
Expressing her plight, Mohanty, a journalist by profession, emphasized that any financial contribution, would greatly aid her in accelerating her election campaign and would serve as an encouragement for her to engage in ethical politics. She stressed that a shortage of funds alone could hinder her path to victory in Puri.
