Puri–Bangiriposi Super Fast Express Upgraded with Modern LHB Coaches

Bhubaneswar: The 12892/12891 Puri–Bangiriposi–Puri Super Fast Express has been upgraded with modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches, offering enhanced safety and comfort to passengers, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) announced today.
The inaugural run of the upgraded train was flagged off on Monday morning from Bangiriposi Railway Station in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. The regular service with the new LHB coaches will commence from Puri on April 29, 2025, and from Bangiriposi on April 30, 2025. Previously, the train operated with conventional ICF coaches.
The new composition of the train includes one AC Chair Car, six Second Class Reserved Seating Coaches, five General Second Class Coaches, one Guard-cum-Power Car, and one Guard-cum-Second Class Coach designed to accommodate Divyangjan (differently-abled) passengers.
The inaugural event was attended by several prominent dignitaries, including Mayurbhanj Lok Sabha MP Naba Charan Majhi, Rajya Sabha MP Mamata Mohanta, Bangiriposi MLA Sanjali Murmu, and Saraskana MLA Bhadav Hansdah.
The introduction of LHB coaches is expected to significantly enhance passenger amenities and improve operational efficiency on this key route, which connects Odisha’s coastal and tribal regions through the state capital, Bhubaneswar.
