Puri: 3 Killed, 2 Hurt in Jumbo Attack

Puri (Pramit Pramathes): Three persons were killed and two others were severely injured after a tusker attacked them in Nimapara and Pipili areas in Puri district this morning.

The perished were identified as Jugal Kishore Bhat of Gopinathpur village, Makara Pilai of Chandradeipur , both under Balanga police station and Chain Sahoo of Pipili. The injured persons were, Bhuban Prusty and Hadibandhu Nayak of Terahal village.

Sources said, a wild jumbo created panic among the locals after it strayed into human habitations under Balanga police station crossing the highway. The police and forest officials have rushed to to the place to catch the wild tusker.
