Preparatory Meet for Cuttack Baliyatra held in Cuttack
Cuttack, 27-10-2018: The world famous Bali Jatra will be held from November 23 to 29 this year at Bali Jatra ground.
Cuttack District Collector Aravind Agrawal today informed that the largest trade fair of the state will be organized as per the guidelines set by the National Green Tribunal(NGT), in a meeting called by him to discuss preparation for the fair.The meeting was attended,among others,by the Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation and the Comissioner of Police.
The annual grand festival is held on the banks of the Mahanadi river in Cuttack, to mark the day when the ancient mariners(sadhabas) would set out to distant land of Bali,for trade and cultural expansion.
Collector Sri Agrawal replying to questions from reporters said:We want to see that the Baliyatra, which is so important for the people of Odisha, is held smoothly with all the concerned government departments working in close co-ordination.A few new attractions have been planned for this year’s Baliyatra which will be finalized after discussion with the National Green Tribunal.
