Prabasi Bharatiya Divas to be Held in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The 18th Prabasi Bharatiya Divas will be held for three days from January 8 to 10, 2025 in Bhubaneswar of Odisha. This Day is being held in Odisha for the first time. The Bhumi Pujan for the Divas has been done at Janata Maidan, the venue for the upcoming event. The state government is fully prepared to celebrate it in a very attractive and successful manner. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the preparations for it at Lok Seva Bhavan yesterday.
In the review, the Chief Minister said that this Prabasi Bharatiya Divas, which started in 2003, is being held in Odisha for the first time. This is a golden opportunity to showcase preciousness of Odisha to the world. The Prime Minister is also giving much importance to this event. Therefore, he suggested that it should be organized in a very attractive and flawless manner and the image of Odisha should be made bright in the entire world.
The Chief Minister especially attached importance to the cleanliness of the city. He said that the cleanliness of Bhubaneswar should be of international standard. For this, he suggested that a special cleanliness campaign be conducted in Bhubaneswar. For this event, all the roads of Bhubaneswar are being renovated, illuminated, attractively decorated, while hotel bookings for the guests are underway. Tourist places are being beautified. Arrangements are being made to take the guests to 28 tourist destinations in various cities like Bhubaneswar, Puri, Konark, Jajpur etc.
About 7500 delegates are likely to attend the celebration. More than 3700 rooms have been booked for the guests, while homestay arrangements have also been made at some places. Various committees formed for the smooth management of the event are holding regular meetings and expediting the preparations. The Chief Minister also asked the locals to get involved in this event.
The review revealed that the External Affairs Minister is scheduled to attend the first day on January 8, the Prime Minister on January 9 and the President on January 10. The event will feature a Plenary Session on topics such as ‘Unraveling India’s Best Kept Secret’ and ‘Odisha – the Land of Opportunities’. Along with this, various topics such as the historical glory of Odisha, art, sculpture, music, dance, tribal culture, language, literature, tourist places, etc. will be presented through digital and other means. It is to be noted that about 10 festivals will be organized in Bhubaneswar in January. These festivals are:
- Raja Rani Music Festival (January 7-11)
- Muktaswar Dance Festival (January 7-11)
- International Odissi Dance Festival (January 7-11)
- Tribal Dance and Folk Art Festival (January 7-11)
- Adivasi Mela (Tribal Fair) (January 5-15)
- Chilika Bird Festival (January 6-12)
- Flower Show (January 7-11)
- Food Fest (January 8-10)
- Night Flea Market (January 8-10)
