Political parties get down to business ahead of 2019 polls in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal, Dec 24: With the 2019 general election with barely four months away, almost all the political parties have got down to business and started ground works through different kinds of campaign and events from village to district headquarters in Dhenkanal district.
Local BJP leaders and workers led by district BJP president Bibhuti Bhusan Pradhan accompanied the grassroots workers and leaders under banner of Jana Pramarsha Yatra (Public consultation Yatra ) to spread the success stories of NDA government.
Former Rajyasabha MP Rudranarayan Pany, former MLA Krushna Ch Patra and other leaders are meeting people in every panchyat and promoting awareness about Swchcha Bharat, Ayusman Bharat, Man ki Baat , MUDRA Yojana, assistance under MSME and others.
They have been distributing leaflets of various success stories of the Modi-led government.
Pradhan has confined his activities to his Parjang Assembly constituency — comprising Parjang and tribal dominated Kanakdahada block- where he was defeated by Transport & Commerce Minister Nrushing Sahoo by margin of 3000 votes in 2014.
However, he claims monitoring the activities being taken up the party cadre in the district.
“We have covered as many as 182 grampanchyats of 212 in Dhenkanal. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is also attending programme with sponsorship to public interests works under ONGC CSR funds.”
Former Congress Minister Nabin Chandra Das said the party is sure of victory in the ensuing election under the leadership of Niranjan Patnaik.
“Now people are inclining to Congress and many youth have shown interests in Congress,” he claims.
The BJD district president and Steel Mines Minister Prafulla Mallik has started rally and padayatra in various villages. He is holding public meetings and organizing sports competitions through his supporters.
His people’s contact programme has been going on for months.
Mallik is popular in the district for his efforts to provide drinking water, irrigation facilities and welfare of labourers and for NALCO downstream industry.
He claims, BJD is ahead in performance and extending benefits to the people.
In Dhenkanal Assembly constituency BJD MLA Saroj Samal is attending all public programme and prodding the District administration to expedite of all welfare projects and programmes by the deadline.
He has conducted micro survey in all GPs in Dhenkanal Sadar and Gondia block.
Dhenkanal MP Tathagata Satpathy has been meeting people in rural areas and attending public, govt programme.
