Police to Take Action Against Marriage Processions

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): The Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack will take action against violation of norms at marriage processions in the capital city, said Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash, today.

License for marriage procession is issued by the Office of the DCP after an applicant agrees to as many as 30 conditions, including no display of fireworks and no DJ music. However, several reports of violation of the rules have come to fore recently, the police official said.

“Senior citizens, pregnant women and children are getting affected due to the loud DJ music and fireworks. Besides, we would like to inform the citizens that marriage procession after 10 PM is prohibited due to the night curfew restrictions. All police stations in the city have been asked to take action in the case of violation,” he said.
