Police, Maoists Gun-Battle on Odisha-Andhra Border

Malkangiri (Reporters Today Bureau): An exchange of fire took place between security forces and Maoists near Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border late last night. No casualties have been reported in the encounter.

According to reports, the security forces, acting on a tip-off about the movement of Maoists at Jumadanga in Malkangiri district, carried out an operation.

The extremists opened fire at the security forces, following which the latter retaliated. Till last reports came in, the exchange of fire was underway.
