Police Encounter in Dhenkanal, Criminal Debashish Behera Injured

Dhenkanal: In a big success for Dhenkanal Police, a dreaded criminal has been encountered in Dhenkanal of Odisha. The encounter took place near Mangalpura under Dhenkanal Sadar police station limits in the wee hours of today when he was planning a murder. The notorious criminal who has faced the police encounter has been identified as Debashish Behera alias Hund.

As per reports, Hund was planning a murder last night. After receiving solid information about this from a reliable source, police reached the place. Seeing police the criminal started to flee from the scene. Hence, police chased him to catch. However, as he opened fire then police also retaliated. In this exchange of fire, he sustained bullet injury in his right leg and police then caught him.

He was then first admitted to Dhenkanal District Headquarter Hospital and later shifted to Cuttack.

Police have found that Hund is a key member of the King of Forest gang that is active in Kamakhyanagar area of Dhenkanal. He has multiple cases of murder, robbery, and loot in his name. Notorious criminal Rakesh Nathar is his main accomplice.
