Police begins probe into tele actor’s death, husband detained

Cuttack, Jan 7: A day after the death of Odia tele actress Laxmipriya Behera (32), popularly  known as Nikita, under mysterious circumstances at a private hospital here, her husband has been detained by the Commissionerate police today.

          Lipun Sahu, the husband of Nikita, has been detained following a formal complaint was lodged against him at Chauliaganj police station here this evening.

          Nikita’s father, Sanatana Behera, has lodged the complaint against the victim’s husband and her mother-in-law and father-in-law accusing them of murder.

          In his complaint, Sanatana alleged that har daughter was murdered by Lipun as two were not in a good relationship for the last few months.

           Acting on his complaint, police has detained Lipun for interrogation over the matter.

          According to the police, the actress was admitted to a private hospital after sustaining head injury in an accident on Friday night. Later she was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital. Soon after her demise, an unnatural death case was registered at Markatnagar police station and the post mortem report is awaited for further investigation to ascertain cause of death, police said.
