PM Narendra Modi renames 3 Andaman And Nicobar Islands
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Port Blair today to mark the 75th anniversary of freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose’s declaration of the formation of the Azad Hind government in 1943. The prime minister is scheduled to release a commemorative postal stamp, coin and first day cover to mark the 75th year of ‘Azad Hind’. The prime minister will inaugurate a 7 MW solar power plant, and solar village. He laid the foundation stone for a number of development projects and address a gathering.
PM Modi in Port Blair inaugurated the Industrial Training Institute at Arong and a Modern Sports Complex. The ITI would help empower the youth of the island, with skills, he said. He will also release the innovation and start-up policy for the islands. The prime minister laid wreath at the Martyrs Column at Port Blair and visited the Cellular Jail in the city. PM Modi also hoisted the high mast flag at South Point, Port Blair. He will pay floral tributes at statue of Subhash Chandra Bose at Marina Park in Port Blair.
