PM Modi Discusses Cyclone Dana Preparedness in Cabinet Meeting, Odisha CM Confirms

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the preparedness for Cyclone Dana during a Central Cabinet meeting, according to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The Chief Minister revealed that Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had spoken to the Prime Minister, with the Central Government fully prepared to offer any necessary assistance to Odisha.

During the meeting, PM Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to providing essential support as swiftly as possible, Majhi said.

The Chief Minister also held a review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan to assess the state’s preparedness and response strategies for the impending cyclone. The meeting was attended by several ministers and senior administrative officials, who briefed Majhi on the precautionary measures being implemented in vulnerable districts to protect the population.

Officials from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) provided updates on the cyclone’s current movement. CM Majhi emphasized the importance of taking all necessary precautions to ensure ‘zero casualty’ during the cyclone and stressed the need for quick restoration of power and communication networks after the storm makes landfall.
