Phulbani Municipality  EO arrested in disproportionate assets case.

Reporters Today, CUTTACK, JULY 2: Phulbani Municipality Executive Officer Radhamohan Behera was arrested on June 30 and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Phulbani on Monday. He was remanded to judicial custody till July 15.

On the allegation of acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, Vigilance sleuths of Berhampur Division had raided his residential government quarters at Masterpada, Phulbani, office chamber inside Phulbani Municipality, triple-storied building at Jayadurga Nagar, Berhampur, house of relatives at Turubudi under Jarada PS and house of his associate inside Phulbani Municipality were simultaneously searched on  June 28.

In course of search and inventory, Behera was found in possession of assets worth Rs.1, 36, 32, 077 including one triple-storied building, two plots at Jayadurga Nagar, Berhampur and Dura, Gopalpur, one Jeep Compass, one Volkswagen car, one Scooter, deposits in different banks, gold and silver ornaments, hard cash Rs. 1, 23, 000 and costly household articles.

The income, expenditure and assets of Behera were calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income to the tune of Rs. 1, 20, 30, 945.
