People protest for illegal liquor ban

Jagatsinghpur,Dec 24: locals hit the streets by staging a road blockade for protesting for neglectected behaviour by authorities for not  doing  a check on illegal sale of liquor at Dihasahi under Erasama block in Jagatsinghpur today.

over hundreds of women from different self-help groups (SHGs) of the locality staged anti-liquor protest and blocked the road by burning tyres,report says.

The members of SHGs alleged that illegal liquor business is on in the area. The women forced to do the protest after no action was taken by the excise department officials or police to nab the traders involved in liquor trade in that particular region.The members demanded for immediate action to be taken by the district administration to prevent illicit liquor trade in the area.
