People in Odisha need not to be panic: CM Mohan

Bhubaneswar: Amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has urged the people of the State not to be panic as the state government is well prepared.

While speaking to the media persons after reviewing security arrangements at some important locations of the state like Jagannath temple in Puri, Hirakud Dam, Chandipur missile testing centre and Paradip port, the CM said, “This time, India has vowed to eradicate terrorism and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking the leadership in the world.”

“As there is some threat of attack on vital places of Odisha like Chandipur and Puri through the Bay of Bengal (BoB), the central government has put us on alert and appealed to be ready. Based on this, the state government also has discussed about the security arrangements,” he added.

The Chief Minister also said that discussions on sealing some areas and boarders and intensifying checking are being held. “Besides, steps are being taken to bring back to the Odias those who are staying outside the state. A 24-hour help desk has been opened at the Abasiaka commissioner in Delhi to help them,” the CM said.

Majhi also said, “The Odia students those who are studying in Jammu and Kashmir have been brought back to Delhi and situation is very closely being monitored. India will win if war breaks about with Pakistan and people need not to be worried or panic.”
