Payal Nag Wins Gold at Para Archery

Bhubaneswar: Showcasing extraordinary determination, Payal Nag from Odisha has won gold at the 6th National Para Archery Championship held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Her remarkable performance brought pride to the state, with congratulations pouring in from across the country.
Competing in the women’s compound category, Payal achieved a double gold, surpassing none other than her role model, Paralympic medallist Sheetal Devi. The victory is particularly inspiring given her journey of overcoming the loss of an arm and pursuing archery after being motivated by Sheetal Devi’s achievements.

“Extending my heartfelt good wishes to Odisha’s pride and gold medalist at the 6th National Para Archery Championship, Payal Nag, who won through relentless determination and effort. Despite her physical challenges, she has achieved this remarkable success. I pray for her bright future,” the Chief Minister said in Odia.
Payal’s journey has been inspiring for many, including her community in Bolangir district. Laxmi Singh, a resident, reflected on the early days of Payal’s challenges: “We were deeply concerned about her future and struggled to find a path for her.
