Pangolin Rescues In Cuttack, one held by STF
Cuttack (Reporters Today Bureau): A live pangolin has been rescued by A team of Special Task Force (STF) from the Badamba area in the Cuttack district of Odisha on Friday.
One person has been arrested regarding the matter and the accused has been identified as Keshab Sahoo of Abhimanpur village.
As per reports, A live pangolin was about to sale illegally to some other state. STF team conducted a raid near village Abhimanpur and seized the pangolin from the accused. One live Pangolin and some other state and other incriminating materials from the possession of the Keshab.
A case has been registered at STF police station under sections 379/411/120(B) of IPC r/w 51 of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972.
The seized live pangolin weighs about 14 kgs. It will be handed over to DFO cum Wildlife Warden, Athagarh for safe custody. A press release stated.
