Pahalgam Terror Attack: High Alert in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack in Baisaran Valley of Jammu and Kashmir, the Commissionerate Police heightened security and started blocking and checking at several places in the capital city.
On Wednesday night, the police personnel of Commissionerate Police conducted thorough blocking and checking. As per the guidelines issued, several crowded areas, religious places, railway station, airport and bus stands were thoroughly checked.
Two days ago, the Reserve Police Force (RPF) conducted a flagmarch in the Railway station. The RPF officials awared the commuters of the potential threat present among them. They also asked the people to report immediately if they encounter any suspicious activity. People can either report to the Government Reserve Police (GRP) or the RPF.
The security in the railway station has also been heightened. As many as three platoons of police force have been deployed in the railway station both inside and outside. CCTV footages and security is being monitored 24 hours a day.
The Pahalgam terror attack claimed the lives of 26 people including one Nepali citizen on April 22. Following the terror attack the Centre directed the states to deport all Pakistani nationals residing in the states. As many as 786 Pakistan nationals have left India through the Attari-Wagah border point within six days beginning April 24.
