OMFED Hikes Milk Prices Across Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) has revised the prices of its milk variants across the state, with the new rates coming into effect from June 12, 2025.
As per the latest price revision, the cost of toned and premium milk has gone up by ₹2 per litre, while the price of Gold milk has been increased by ₹4 per litre. The updated rates are as follows:
- Toned Milk: ₹50/litre
- Premium Milk: ₹54/litre
- Gold Premium Milk: ₹56/litre
- Gold Premium+ Milk: ₹60/litre
The price hike comes shortly after Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on the occasion of World Milk Day (June 1), announced an additional incentive of ₹3 per litre for milk producers associated with OMFED. This move is aimed at encouraging dairy farming and improving the livelihood of farmers in the state.
Out of the ₹4 hike in Gold milk prices, the state government will absorb ₹2 per litre, offering some relief to consumers.
OMFED officials stated that the revision was necessary due to increased procurement costs and to support the dairy farming sector, which plays a vital role in rural employment and nutrition security in Odisha.
