Olive Ridley Turtle Cubs Rescued from Chaumukha Beach
Jaleswar (Ajit Kumar Sahu): Temperatures and climate change are set to diminish rare sea creatures and variety types of turtles for contaminated water and environment. The government and the department could not succeed to stop this, spending billions of money in a year on this. However, the forest department cordoned off the area after finding eggs of Oliveridle turtles twice from the coastal land near the Chaumukh forest beet house in the Chandipur forest, under the Baleswar forest block, the Langleswar forest ranger in Chandipur forest.
So far this year, a total of 198 Oliveridle cubs have been rescued and released into the sea. Local Sarpanch Narayan Khatua, and Chandipur Rangers Ganesh Prasad Lenka, Prakash Kumar Mohanty, Hrishikesh Pradhan, Uttam Kumar Khatua and Dujay Karan were present on behalf of the forest department.
The sarpanch, Mr. Khatua, demanded the declaration of this area as a turtle breeding area. The government, the Ministry of Forests and Environment, and the district administration should start strict patrolling by hiring more forest workers stopping the proposed port work.
