Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s youth are the true architects of the state’s future, State’s Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has emphasised.
Addressing a distinguished gathering on the occasion of Odisha Diwas celebration, the Governor called upon everyone to strengthen their commitment toward making Odisha a developed and prosperous state.
In his message during the occasion, the Governor said, “Odisha Divas is a day of pride and joy, a moment to honor our glorious past while envisioning a bright and promising future.”
He paid tribute to the brave sons and daughters of Odisha who played pivotal roles in the formation of an independent state, acknowledging their unparalleled contributions to the state’s legacy.
Expressing his deep connection to the state, the Governor said, “I consider myself blessed to serve Odisha, the sacred land of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath.”
He highlighted the cultural richness of the state, mentioning iconic landmarks like the Shri Jagannath Temple and the Konark Sun Temple, alongside the timeless art forms of Odissi dance.
Dr. Kambhampati celebrated Odisha’s vibrant handicrafts, tribal arts, and folk traditions, noting how they have made the state a cultural beacon globally. However, he also underlined Odisha’s evolving role as a dynamic economic hub. “With its strategic location, abundant natural resources, and a vibrant workforce, Odisha is poised for tremendous growth,” he said.
The Governor highlighted key developments such as the Make in Odisha Conclave, which has attracted significant industrial investments, and the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, enhancing global connectivity in trade, technology, and talent. “Odisha is transforming into a gateway to the East, playing a crucial role in India’s economic growth,” he added.
Moreover, he shed light on ongoing infrastructure developments, including modern ports, highways, and smart cities, alongside the rapidly growing tourism industry gaining international recognition. However, he stressed the importance of inclusive growth, ensuring that development benefits all citizens.
“The real strength of Odisha lies in its people — dedicated, hardworking, and forward-thinking. The energy, talent, and aspirations of our youth are shaping new possibilities,” Dr. Kambhampati remarked. He lauded the government’s focus on skill development, entrepreneurship, and innovation, which is empowering young minds to excel across various fields.
The flourishing start-up ecosystem and the rise of women-led industries were also highlighted as testimonies to the state’s inclusive growth trajectory. Concluding his address, the Governor called for a collective resolution: “Let’s strive together to make Odisha not just a developed state but a beacon of economic progress, innovation, and leadership.”
The ceremony also featured Adhyapak Biswaranjan as the chief speaker, who eloquently discussed the historical significance of Odisha’s formation as an independent province, the essence of celebrating Odisha Divas, current achievements, and the challenges that lie ahead for the state.
