Odisha’s Tableau Rejected for Republic Day Parade
New Delhi: Odisha’s tableau will not be part of this year’s Republic Day parade, as the state’s proposal was rejected after five rounds of selection by the Ministry of Defence, official sources confirmed.
The decision comes as a disappointment for many in the state who had hoped to see Odisha’s cultural representation at the prestigious parade.
However, Odisha’s tableau will be showcased at Bharat Parv, an event organized by the Government of India from January 26 to 31 near the Red Fort in Delhi. Bharat Parv is an integral part of the Republic Day celebrations, providing states with an opportunity to display their culture and heritage.
Tableaux from Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, as well as Chandigarh, have been selected for the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path.
