Odisha’s progress in alignment with Biju babu’s vision: CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar (Ajoy Mishra): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has asserted that his government’s policies align with the vision of legendary Biju Patnaik to build a prosperous state. “Our government’s policies and programs align with Biju Babu’s vision, including the ambitious target of building a prosperous Odisha by 2036,” said the Chief Minister lauding the visionary leadership of Biju Patnaik on the occasion of his 109th birth anniversary. Addressing a state-level celebration organized by the Information and Public Relations Department here, the Chief Minister said, “Biju Babu was the pathfinder of Odisha. Every step of his life inspires us.” He recalled Biju Patnaik’s dream of a prosperous Odisha, which centered around industrialization, empowering women, and strengthening the rural economy.
The Chief Minister emphasized Biju Patnaik’s unwavering commitment to industrial growth. Not only did Biju Babu establish several factories, but he also made the unique decision to hand them over to the government.
“Biju Babu was perhaps the only person in the world to make such a decision,” Majhi remarked and added that following Biju Babu’s blueprint, the government aims to strengthen the industrial base of Odisha, with investment proposals worth Rs 17 lakh crore already received at the Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the ongoing efforts to empower women through the Subhadra Yojana, which will engage over one crore women. “We are committed to fulfilling Biju Babu’s dream of women’s empowerment,” he added. Biju Patnaik’s focus on rural development was another key point in the Chief Minister’s speech. Citing Biju Babu’s famous slogan, “Gaon ku kama, maa ku samman” (Work for the village, respect for mothers), Majhi reiterated that the development of villages was crucial for the state’s overall growth. He further revealed that the government will implement the “Viksit Gaon, Viksit Odisha” scheme with an investment of Rs 10,000 crore over the next five years to realize Biju Babu’s vision for rural prosperity. He also reflected on Biju Patnaik’s belief in the Panchayati Raj system, which recognized the role of local representatives as equal to that of the state’s leadership. This principle continues to guide the government’s decentralization efforts. Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo recalled his personal political experiences with Biju Patnaik, emphasizing the latter’s focus on grassroots service. “Biju Babu always believed in serving the people at the grassroots level,” said Singh Deo. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida highlighted that Biju Patnaik was not just a name but a collection of institutions, urging everyone to follow his ideals and principles. Former minister Prafulla Ghadai, the chief speaker at the event, expressed admiration for Biju Patnaik’s efforts in industrializing Odisha. He affirmed that the current government is dedicated to continuing the path laid by Biju Babu to ensure the state’s development.
