Odisha to witness India’s first waste material based sculptures

Bhubaneswar.27-10-2018: In a bid to boost socio-cultural art in Odisha, Artists Network Promoting Indian Culture (ANPIC) along with Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) will be conducting India’s first International Public Art Symposium (IPAS) from November 1 to 20.
Artists from 14 countries will be participating in this 20-day live sculpturing programmed, which is perhaps the first such event ever organized in the country. The creations will thereafter be housed in a museum built for the purpose of exhibiting art produced out of waste materials that cannot be otherwise re-used or re-cycled.
The art-work is supposed to spread the message of ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and create awareness to save the ecology from deterioration and protection of wildlife, said Sashanka Mohapatra, Managing Trustee, ANPIC.
ANPIC is an Odisha based socio-cultural organization with a mission to promote social integration through art and culture, apart from dealing with environmental issues.
