Odisha to Witness Heavy Rainfall For Next 3 Days

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for several districts in Odisha for today. The IMD has issued an orange alert in Kalahandi. Similarly, a yellow alert has been issued in Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Rayagada and Gajapati.

Thunderstorms and lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati. “Rainfall is expected to persist until September 16 due to the anticipated weather system. From Friday, the intensity of rain will increase in North Odisha. Additionally, Western Odisha and Chhattisgarh are expected to experience heavier rain from the September 14 to 16″, said Dr Sarat Chandra Sahu, Director of the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC), SOA.
