Odisha to Use Omfed Ghee at Temples

Bhubaneswar: In response to allegations of adulterated ghee being used at religious institutions, the Odisha government has decided to use Omfed ghee at major temples across the state. Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik announced today that Omfed ghee is already being used at the Jagannath Temple in Puri and will now be supplied to other temples as well.

The state government has instructed district collectors to ensure that Omfed ghee is used in all major temples to ensure the quality and purity of offerings. Additionally, in response to growing demand for Omfed products, particularly in rural areas, the government plans to open Omfed stalls in villages to make the products more accessible to local customers.

“We are prioritizing milk production in Odisha, and these stalls will help meet the demand for our products in rural communities,” Mallik added.
