Odisha to Set Up Industrial Park for Women Entrepreneurs

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to foster women empowerment and promote entrepreneurship, the Odisha government has announced plans to establish an exclusive industrial park for women entrepreneurs. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made this announcement during the women business leaders’ roundtable at the ‘Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave-2025’ today.
The roundtable, part of the state government’s flagship investors’ summit, focused on empowering women in business. As part of the initiative, a special cell will be set up within the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL) to assist women entrepreneurs with resources and opportunities for business growth.
“We are committed to creating a conducive environment for women entrepreneurs in Odisha,” said Chief Minister Majhi. “Our decision to establish an exclusive industrial park and a special IPICOL cell for women will enable them to thrive and contribute to the state’s economic growth.”
The Chief Minister highlighted that these initiatives are part of the state’s vision to create a more inclusive and sustainable business ecosystem. The women’s industrial park will provide a dedicated space for women-led businesses to flourish.
The announcement comes after the inauguration of the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave-2025 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 28. Odisha Chief Minister Majhi, along with Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw, attended the event. Several prominent business leaders, including Kumar Mangalam Birla, Sajjan Jindal, Naveen Jindal, and Karan Adani, were present at the conclave, where the state government received investment commitments worth Rs 4.5 lakh crore on the first day.
