Odisha to Set Up 1,000-Hectare IT Park in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: In a landmark move to boost digital infrastructure and attract technology investments, the Odisha government has announced plans to develop a massive IT park spanning 1,000 hectares across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The project is set to become one of the state’s largest IT infrastructure initiatives to date.

Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan shared details of the ambitious plan, highlighting the government’s long-term vision to upgrade both urban and rural connectivity over the next five years. The new IT park is a key part of this strategy, aimed at positioning the state as a major player in the digital economy.

A key feature of the project will be a “Plug and Play” built-up zone, designed to provide ready-to-use office spaces for companies. This model is expected to significantly reduce setup time for businesses and attract a wide range of tech players—from startups and mid-sized firms to global IT giants—seeking to expand in Eastern India.

In Bhubaneswar alone, the built-up area will cover around 10 lakh square meters, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to support business operations and foster innovation. The project also aims to generate substantial employment and establish the Twin City region as a leading IT destination.

This strategic investment is in line with Odisha’s broader vision to become a competitive force in India’s technology sector and a hub for digital transformation.
