Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, the Odisha government has announced that eligible women and young girls applying for the Subhadra Yojana before March 31, 2025, will receive two installments of ₹10,000 at once.
The decision was made during a State Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja informed that applicants submitting their forms before the deadline will receive their first two installments for 2024, totaling ₹10,000.
As of now, over 1.06 crore applications have been registered under Subhadra Yojana, categorized into NFSA/SFSS beneficiaries and general applicants. Among them, 80,29,741 applicants under the NFSA/SFSS category have already received their first installment of ₹5,000.
Applications from non-NFSA/SFSS categories are under review by Field Inquiry Teams (FETs) to verify eligibility, according to the Women and Child Development Department.
While applications for FY 2024-25 are being accepted without a cut-off date, the Cabinet has approved the closure of new registrations on March 31, 2024, for the ongoing financial year.
