Odisha to Disburse Subhadra Yojana Funds to 1 Crore Women by December
Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to support women beneficiaries, the Odisha government will distribute the third phase of Subhadra Yojana funds to over 20 lakh recipients in the last week of November. A fourth installment is scheduled for disbursement in December, with the goal of reaching more than one crore women by the end of the year.
The Block Development Officer (BDO) has been appointed as the nodal officer for re-verifying applications that were previously rejected. To aid this process, a three-member committee, including district welfare officers, has been established at the district level. Rejected applicants will be notified by Anganwadi workers, and cases dismissed due to land ownership issues will undergo re-inspection by the Tehsildar and Revenue Inspector (RI).
Of the 2.67 lakh applications initially rejected, land-related issues were the most common reason for dismissal. To address these cases, the government has announced that re-inspections will be conducted. Additionally, applicants without bank linkages will be contacted to submit bank statements, facilitating easier fund transfers.
In a recent policy change, Anganwadi workers and Master Book Keepers (MBKs) previously excluded from the scheme due to their government employment status will now be eligible for inclusion under Subhadra Yojana.
The government’s continued efforts aim to ensure a smooth disbursement process and maximize the reach of this financial support initiative for women across the state.
