Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Book Fair-2024 is set to commence today at the Exhibition Ground in Unit-3, Bhubaneswar. The event will be inaugurated by Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy in the evening and will run until December 17.

Organised by the Odisha Language, Literature, and Culture Department, this sixth edition of the book fair will feature around 400 stalls, showcasing works from 200 publishers and booksellers.

The fair will include three thematic pavilions dedicated to the legacy of Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab, Lord Buddha, Birsa Munda, and other freedom fighters. Key landmarks within the venue include the main entrance named after Dr. Mahatab, the central stage after Satakadi Hota, and an inner entrance honoring poet Harihar Mishra.

A coffee corner has been set up to foster interactions between authors and readers, providing a space for discussions and book signings. A dedicated auditorium will host main-stage events such as book launches and literary discussions, allowing publishers to present new releases and engage with audiences.

Visitors can also enjoy a variety of food options at stalls operated by Odisha Tourism Development Corporation, Millet Mission, Koraput Coffee, and Mission Shakti.

The fair promises to celebrate literature, culture, and community interaction, offering a platform for authors, readers, and publishers to connect.
