Odisha: Six Killed, Five Injured as Van Collides with Truck in Sundargarh
Sundargarh: In a tragic accident, six people lost their lives and five others were injured when their vehicle collided with a truck in Odisha’s Sundargarh district early Saturday, police reported. The crash took place near Gaikanapali under the Hemgiri Police Station limits when a passenger van carrying a ‘kirtan’ group hit a truck from behind.
According to a senior police officer, “Six members of the group died instantly, while five others sustained injuries. The accident may have been caused by dense fog in the area.”
The group had traveled to Chakkplai village for a Diwali program and was on their way back to their homes in Kandagoda and Samarpinda villages when the accident occurred.
