Odisha Secures Over Rs 16 Lakh Crore Investments

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s flagship investors’ summit, Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave-2025, concluded today with the state government receiving investment intentions worth over Rs 16.73 lakh crore across 20 sectors. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that 593 investment intents had been received, marking a significant milestone for the state’s economic development.

The summit saw 145 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed with corporate houses, totaling Rs 12.89 lakh crore in investment. These MoUs span various sectors including chemicals, petrochemicals, textiles, mining, metallurgy, renewable energy, IT/ITeS, tourism, and food processing. In addition to the signed MoUs, 448 investment intentions with a combined value of Rs 3.84 lakh crore were also submitted.

The anticipated projects, which will be distributed across all 30 districts of the state, are expected to generate 12.88 lakh employment opportunities, further boosting Odisha’s industrial and economic landscape.

During the conclave, the Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs. The government announced plans to establish an exclusive industrial park for women entrepreneurs and a special cell within the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL) to assist them.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the event on January 28, attended by Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with prominent business leaders including Kumar Mangalam Birla, Sajjan Jindal, Naveen Jindal, and Karan Adani.
