Odisha Reports 5 More Corona Positives, Count Reaches 148

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): The number of Coronavirus positives in Odisha climbed to 148 as Jajpur and Balangir reported new cases today. Jajpur district, which has been classified as ‘Red Zone’ by the Centre, is increasing alarmingly by the day, as three more persons from the district tested positive for the virus today. With this, the total confirmed cases in the district surged to 39, including 38 active cases. Following the new cases, the count in the entire state reached 148, the Health and Family Welfare Department informed.
The three new patients are a 55-year-old male of Birajapur, a 75-year-old female of Katikata area and 30-year-old male of Beherapatana (all are in Containment Zone).
Similarly Balangir reported first COVID19 cases today. As per the website of State Health & Family Welfare Department, two persons from the districts have been tested positive for coronavirus.
The two persons who have been tested positive now are – 22-year-old male and 18-year-old male, are the residents of Lekharia village in the districts, informed the Health department.
Both of them had returned from Tamil Nadu recently. Their contact tracing and follow-up action is underway.
