Odisha Records 3,273 Schools with 100% Pass Rate in 2025 Matric Exams

Bhubaneswar: A total of 3,273 high schools across Odisha have achieved 100 per cent pass results in the High School Certificate (HSC) Examinations 2025, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.
Releasing the results on Thursday, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond informed that out of these, 1,802 are government-run high schools, 1,154 are government-aided schools, and 317 are unaided private schools.
“The pass percentage of government schools is higher compared to aided and unaided institutions. Notably, no school in the state has recorded zero per cent results this year,” the Minister stated.
This year, 5,02,417 students appeared for the matriculation exams, of whom 4,84,863 have passed. The overall pass percentage stands at 94.93.
In comparison, the 2024 HSC examinations saw 5,39,152 students appear, with 5,29,209 clearing the exams, resulting in a pass percentage of 96.27.
Despite the marginal dip in the pass rate, this year marks a significant achievement in terms of the number of schools securing full results. However, the number of students who failed has increased to 17,384 in 2025, up from 9,701 last year, as per BSE data.
The strong performance by government schools has been hailed as a positive sign of improving quality in public education across Odisha.
