Odisha Plus Two Exams Begin Today, Over 3.9 Lakh Students to Appear

Bhubaneswar: The Plus Two examinations in Odisha commenced today, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE). The exams, which began with the Odia language paper for Science students, will continue until March 27 across 1,160 centers in the state.
A total of 3,93,618 students have registered for the examinations, with the Arts stream having the highest enrollment of 2,47,391 students. In the Science stream, 1,14,980 candidates will appear, while 25,526 students will take the Commerce exam. Additionally, 5,721 students are registered under vocational studies.
To ensure fair examinations, a five-level squad has been deployed to curb malpractices. CCTV cameras have been installed in all centers, with 500 centers under live surveillance directly monitored by the CHSE board.
Introduction of Internal Assessment & MCQs
For the first time, a 20-mark internal assessment has been introduced for non-practical subjects, with institutions required to submit marks to the CHSE board. The exam pattern has also been aligned with CBSE, incorporating a higher weightage for MCQ-based questions.
Odisha currently has 110 upgraded higher secondary schools, and CHSE has assured that results will be declared within 45 days of the exam’s completion.
