Odisha Plans Roads, Flyovers, and Ring Roads for Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has unveiled plans to construct new roads, flyovers, two ring roads, and a railway overbridge (ROB) in Bhubaneswar to address growing traffic congestion in the city.

During a meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed a presentation by the Works and Housing and Urban Development departments on various road infrastructure projects. The CM emphasized the importance of streamlining traffic in light of Bhubaneswar’s increasing population.

Proposed projects include:

•A new road from Jaydev Vihar to Nandankanan.

•A ring road connecting Patia Railway Station to NH-16 via Daya West Canal.

•Development of the Sundarpada-Jatani Road.

•A new road linking the Institute of Mathematics to Ekamra Kanan via Patapalli-Trishulia Road.

•A flyover connecting Kalpana Square, Museum, and Ravi Talkies.

•A ROB between Sishu Bhawan Chhak and Mausi Maa Chhak.

•A ring road linking Tamando, Chandaka, Baran, Dhauli, and back to Tamando.

The Housing and Urban Development department also proposed the formation of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri Economic Region and Greater Bhubaneswar.

Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, along with senior ministers and officials, including Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and Development Commissioner Anu Garg, were present at the meeting.
