Odisha Museum to Extend Hours for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Museum will remain open until 9 PM on January 12 to accommodate visitors attending the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention, which begins tomorrow, announced Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj.
“The museum typically closes at 5:30 PM, but we have decided to extend the hours for this special occasion,” the Minister said.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, scheduled from January 8 to 10 in Bhubaneswar, will see Odisha host over 3,000 NRIs and persons of Indian origin. The state government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the event.
To highlight Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department will organize a classical dance and music festival from January 7 to 11, coinciding with the convention.
Minister Suraj emphasized the importance of showcasing Odisha’s cultural legacy to the international audience. “The Rajarani Music Festival, Mukteswar Odissi Dance Festival, and International Odissi Dance Festival will offer visitors a glimpse into our classical art forms,” he said.
The five-day festival will feature performances at iconic locations – the International Odissi Dance Festival at Rabindra Mandap, the Rajarani Music Festival at Rajarani Temple, and the Mukteswar Odissi Dance Festival at Mukteswar Temple.
