Odisha High Court: New judges sworn in

Cuttack: Justice Satrughana Pujahari and Justice Akshaya Kumar Mishra were sworn in as the new judges of Orissa High Court today. High Court Chief Justice K. S. Jhaveri administered the oath.

The swearing-in-ceremony was held at 10.15 am in the new Conference Hall (old building) of Orissa High Court here in the old capital city of Odisha.

As per the programme schedule, Judges-designate of Orissa High Court Justice Satrughana Pujahari and Dr Justice Akshaya Kumar Mishra were received by the Chief Justice in the chambers in the Old Building at 10.08 am. Later they were conducted to the New Conference Hall.

At 10.12 am, the Chief Justice and Dr Justice Akshaya Kumar Mishra, Judge-designate of Orissa High Court were conducted to the New Conference Hall by the Additional Chief Secretary to the State Government’s Home Department and the Registrar General of Orissa High Court.

At 10.15 am, the Additional Chief Secretary to the State Government’s Home Department after obtaining permission from the Chief Justice read out the authorisation of the Governor of Odisha appointing the Chief Justice to administer the oath.

The Additional Chief Secretary after obtaining the permission from the Chief Justice also read out the order of transfer of Justice Satrughana Pujahari to Orissa High Court as well as the Warrant of Appointment of Dr Akshaya Kumar Mishra as Judge-designate to Orissa High Court.

The Chief Justice administered oath first to Justice Satrughana Pujahari and after they signed the oath form, the Chief Justice administered oath to Dr Justice Akshaya Kumar Mishra and soon after the oath form was signed.
