Odisha has a few popular social schemes
Bhubaneswar: BJD supreme-cum-Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and scores of pro-people schemes being implemented across the State, two such latest schemes, “Ama Gaon Ama Bikash” and its most recent sub-scheme “PEETHA”, are expected to touch people’s hearts.
The government has brought these schemes to directly and instantly benefit the beneficiaries at the grassroots level. And it is not surprising that Naveen’s popularity has seen an upward trend.
While ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ has now already covered over 250 blocks of Odisha since its launch on March 5 this year, this flagship programme of Odisha Government is being believed to be popular among the rural populace as the Chief Minister directly interacts with the people through video conferencing from State Secretariat and sanctions money on the spot after approving their respective local projects then are there.
Recently, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced ‘PEETHA’, a sub-scheme of ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’. This programme will be held at all Gram Panchayats across Odisha from 15-20 of every month starting from December 2018 till March 2019 prior to the general elections.
The attractive feature of the Ama Gaon Ama Bikash scheme is the speed of implementation.
“The big question now arises about the timing of its announcement and implementation. As election is round the corner, successful implementation may get hampered due to imposition of model code of conduct. “commented one observer.
