Odisha Grants Menstrual Leave for Women Govt Employees

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has announced 12 days of additional leave per year for women government employees to address health issues related to menstruation. This provides one extra leave day per month, specifically for menstrual health, in addition to the regular leave allowances.

The Finance Department issued a notification on Monday, detailing the new policy. Currently, women government employees in Odisha receive 10 days of casual leave (CL) and 5 days of special CL annually. With this new provision, they will now receive an extra 12 days of leave per year, available until the age of 55.

As outlined in the notification, these menstrual health leaves are non-cumulative and cannot be carried forward if unused within the month. This initiative aims to support the well-being of women employees across the state.
