Odisha Govt Working to Integrate Journalists into Unified Insurance Scheme

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has assured that efforts are underway to integrate journalists into the unified insurance scheme, addressing concerns over the non-issuance of health cards under the Gopabandhu Sambadika Bima Yojana.

Responding to a query from BJP MLA Upasna Mohapatra (Brahmagiri) in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Majhi stated that the data of journalists who recently applied for the scheme is being cross-verified with the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana database. He assured that necessary steps will be taken accordingly.

The Chief Minister informed the House that 804 journalists applied for registration under the Gopabandhu Sambadika Bima Yojana between June 2024 and February 2025.

Mohapatra also sought clarification on the status of these applications and the reasons behind any rejections.
