Odisha govt. to provide free LED bulbs

The Odisha government has decided to provide free LED bulbs to the beneficiaries of National Food Security Act (NFSA) from October. A decision in this regard was taken.
The bulbs will be distributed under the new scheme ‘Ama Ghare LED light’ announced by the state while presenting annual budget 2018-19. The state government had made a budgetary provision of `125 crore for the new scheme. The government aims to implement the scheme from October next. Under the scheme every family of the National Food Security Act beneficiary would be given two LED bulbs free of cost. Each bulb will have a warranty period of three years. The scheme would be implemented by the Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (OPTCL) and the bulbs would be distributed to the beneficiaries through the Public Distribution System (PDS) shops
