Odisha govt in action mode: DCP Vishnu Pati and Commandant Ajay Padhi suspended

Puri: Taking swift action in the Saradhabali stampede that claimed lives of three people on Sunday during Rath Yatra festivities, CM Mohan Majhi has suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vishnu Pati and Commandant Ajay Padhi.

An ex-gratia amount of Rs 25 lakh was also announced for the family members of the three deceased.

Earlier in a press release the CMO had informed that Chanchal Rana has been appointed as new Collector of Puri replacing Siddharth Shankar Swain as the District Magistrate cum Collector.

SP Vineet Agrawal has also been transferred and IPS Pinak Mishra to take up his place as the Puri SP.

The press release also mentioned an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh for the families of the deceased in the Saradhabali stampede today early morning.
